Applying at the consulate
The non-lucrative visa must be requested in person at the Consulate General of Spain in London (England and Wales) or Edinburgh (Scotland and Northern Ireland), through BLS Spain Visa centres. You will need proof of funds, private Spanish health insurance, a medical certificate and the ACRO police certificate, apostilled by the FCDO Legalisation Office. NHS cover and GHIC do not count for a Spanish residence visa — you need private Spanish health insurance with no co-payments.

This route is for living in Spain without working; remote work is not permitted under this visa. Prepare evidence of sufficient resources, an appropriate Spanish health policy, a medical certificate and the ACRO police certificate. Consular fees, translations and apostilles are separate from our service price.
